Man Wanted in Connection to a Fatal Stabbing in Lakewood Surrenders

A 32-year-old man wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing on June 22, turned himself in this morning.

Shortly after 8:30 a.m., Darneil Reeves, surrendered to authorities and is now being held in the Ocean County Jail on murder and weapons charges.

On the night of June 22, Hassan Parker, 32, of Toms River, was sitting in his car in the parking lot of the Martin Luther King, Jr. apartment complex in Lakewood when he was stabbed by Reeves. Parker then crashed his vehicle into a utility pole.

Parker was transported to Monmouth Medical Center Souther Campus sometime after 11:20 p.m., where he was pronounced dead the next morning.

On June 24, authorities announced the warrant issued against Reeves in connection to Parker's death.
