Man Wanted for Burglary in Newark

Police issued a warrant for the arrest of James Williams, 51, of Newark, in connection with a burglary that occurred on Friday, February 7th.

According to police, at approximately midnight, a victim returned to a residence in the 100 block of South 7th Street to find that the apartment had been broken into.

Over $3,000.00 in cash was stolen along with jewelry and a 32” television.

Detectives investigating this incident have identified James Williams as a suspect and have obtained a warrant for his arrest on a charge of burglary.

While police are actively searching for Williams, we seek the public’s help in quickly locating him as part of this investigation. Williams is described as 5’10” tall and 188 lbs.

He has a dark brown complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He also has a tattoo on his right forearm bearing the name “Ruth.”
