Police in Newark are on the search for Mr. Major Mincey, 27, of Newark, for an aggravated assault that occurred on Friday, September 15th.
According to police, at approximately 6:15 a.m., police responded to a South Ward residence on the report of an assault.
A man entered the victim’s apartment, armed with a rifle, pointed the weapon and threatened her.
Police said the suspect and victim knows each another.
Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Major Mincey as a suspect in this incident and obtained a warrant for his arrest on charges of Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes.
While police are actively searching for Mincey, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from ciry streets.
Mincey is approximately 5’9” tall and weighs about 200 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.
