A Medivac helicopter airlifted a man to the hospital suffering serious injuries after being pinned between a tractor and its trailer earlier this evening.

The incident happened before 4:30 p.m. in the 50's block of Harrison Avenue sending a host of emergency responders to the scene where they found the conscious and alert man injured at that location.
According to preliminary reports, the man was briefly trapped in between the trailer and tractor when the two somehow shifted together but he was able to self-extricate before rescue crews arrived reports said.
The unidentified man was flown to University Hospital in Newark in serious but stable condition.
It is not immediately clear what officially caused the incident.
Police are actively investigating.
