Police in Trenton are investigating the motive behind a shooting that severely injured a male victim Sunday morning.
Officers were dispatched to the area of Ingram Avenue and New Willow Street for a person shot around 2:10 a.m.
Responding cops found an unconscious male suffering bullet wounds at that location. He was rushed to Capital Health Medical Center for treatment and listed in critical condition.
In a second and possibly unrelated shooting incident, Trenton officers responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of Perry and North Montgomery streets shortly before 2 a.m.
Units arrived and found an unidentified male suffering non-fatal gunshot wounds.
The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition and is expected to recover.
The motive for both shootings is under investigation.
