EMS rushed a male victim to University Hospital in Newark after gunfire struck the victim at an apartment complex in Elizabeth Tuesday night.
According to preliminary reports, Elizabeth police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out at the Parker Walk new apartment complex -formerly known as Oakwood Manor- on Willow Court at approximately 11 p.m.
Officer arrived at the scene found a male victim suffering bullet wounds according to police.
A female suffered a leg injury, but police do not believe that the woman was shot. The woman sustained her injury by attempting to flee the scene during the shots-fired incident according to reports.
She was taken to Rahway Hospital for treatment according to reports.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
No arrests have been reported.
