NJ Transit Police said at approximately 12:46 p.m., Morris & Essex Line train 6625, which departed Penn Station New York at 11:46 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive at Dover at 1:15 p.m., struck and injured an adult male pedestrian in the vicinity of Summit Station.
NJ Transit Police said the extent of the pedestrian’s injuries are unknown at this time.
There were no injuries reported to the approximately 60 customers or the crew onboard the train at the time.
According to NJ Transit, The Morris & Essex Line train service is suspended between Milburn and Chatham due to this incident.
New Jersey Transit Police are on the scene leading the investigation.
