One of two alleged robbers was treated for stabbing injury after Linden resident's boyfriend stabbed robbery suspect who forced his way into the Linden apartment.
Police responded to an apartment on the 700 block of Lincoln Street at approximately 6:33 p.m. for a report of attempted burglary in process, Captain James Sarnicki said today.
Upon arrival, officers spoke to the 26-year-old female tenant who told them, that two men forced their way into her apartment and told her and her boyfriend to vacate the premises. The woman’s boyfriend attempted to call 9-1-1 on his cell phone, when one of the men grabbed the phone and broke it. The boyfriend then grabbed a knife and stabbed one of the suspects in the shoulder. Both men then fled the building, added Sarnicki. Officers checked the area and followed a blood trail that led to the injured suspect, later identified as Jokester D. Wilson, Jr., 23, of Linden, on the 1100 block of McCandless Street.
Wilson was bleeding from a shoulder wound, said the captain.
He was arrested on contempt warrants out of Linden, Union Twp., Elizabeth, and Roselle.
He was transported to headquarters and treated for his injury by the Fire Department ambulance.
After he was booked, he was taken to Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth for further medical treatment, said police. After an investigation by Linden Detective Kenneth Mikolajczyk, Wilson was further charged with burglary and theft and was being held on $30,000 bail.
The incident may have been related to a landlord tenant dispute. The second man has not been identified, and the investigation is continuing.
The female tenant and her boyfriend were not injured. Wilson has a court date set for March 13th.
