Police reported a stabbing incident that occurred on South 7th Street Thursday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police received reports of a man bleeding in the 100 of the West Ward neighborhood around 2:31 a.m.
Officers arrived and found the male victim bleeding from his stomach after he reportedly used a sharp object to stab himself repeatedly.
The victim was transported the short distance to University Hospital, where he was treated and is expected to recover.
Police say the incident was isolated and never believed the public was in harm's way.
