The Rutherford Police Department and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit are investigating a domestic violence homicide that occurred at 346 Union Avenue, Rutherford on Tuesday.
Offcials say, sometime before 9:45 p.m., police received a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident where the caller reportedly engaged in a physical altercattion with his brother inside the home.
Police arrived at the scene and found a male victim bleeding heavily after suffering a severe stab injury according to Bergen County officials.
Police say the male victim died as a result of stab wounds, and one suspect was placed in custody.
No other individuals are believed to be involved.
An investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Rutherford Police Department under the direction of Chief John Russo.
