There were non-life threatening injuries reported for the victim of a stabbing that occurred in Newark’s Downtown this afternoon.
Police were called to the intersection of Broad and Cedar streets at around 3:55 p.m. when they received reports of a man lying on the sidewalk bleeding from the stomach.
Fast responding police officers arrived and found the unidentified man in front of Dunkin Donuts suffering a stab wound at that location.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital where doctors treated the victim’s injury.
Police took a male suspect into custody and charged him with assault.
The motive for the attack remains under investigation.
