Newark authorities are investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred Saturday night at a housing complex in the city’s West Ward.According to the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office, police received multiple 911 calls around 9:10 p.m. reporting a violent altercation on the West Market Street and the Fairmont Avenue side of Georgia King Village housing development.
When officers arrived, they discovered a man suffering from apparent stab wounds.
Emergency medical personnel were called to the scene, and the victim - in his early 30s- was transported to University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The circumstances and motive behind the stabbing remain under active investigation.
No arrests have been reported, and additional details have not been released.
Authorities continue to search for the suspect responsible for the deadly attack.
