A man was killed after gunshots rang out in Jersey City this afternoon.
Hudson County Prosecutor's Office are investigating the shooting that occurred sometime before 5 p.m. in the 30’s block of Journal Square Plaza.
Once officers arrived to the scene, the man was found suffering from a gunshot wounds to the head according to reports.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, they are investigating the fatal shooting of a store owner at 905 Bergen Avenue.
The victim appears to have been a victim of a robbery gone wrong but officials are in the preliminary stages of the investigation.
An investigation by the prosecutor's office's Major Crimes and Homicide Task Force is underway.
