NEWARK NJ: An overnight brutal assault of a man in the city's South Ward has authorities investigating.
Police responded to the 100 block of Ludlow Street for reports of an assault in progress shortly after 1 a.m. where upon their arrival, they found a man suffering multiple contusions and lacerations at that location.
The man reportedly told police that the incident happened somewhere on Frelinghuysen Ave. he was assaulted by unidentified male suspects.
EMS transported the man to the hospital where he also suffered a rib injury.
There were no arrest reported.
