Authorities in Atlantic County announced that on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, LaQuay Taylor, 33, of Mays Landing, was sentenced to four years New Jersey State Prison after previously pleading guilty to third-degree aggravated assault.
According to ACPO officials, on March 23, 2024, officers from the Absecon Police Department were dispatched to the Travelodge on Absecon Boulevard for reports of a domestic violence incident.
When officers arrived, they located a victim in the lobby bleeding from the mouth and several teeth missing, Absecon Police stated.
Atlantic County authorities said officers determined that the victim got into an argument with her boyfriend, LaQuay Taylor, in their hotel room.
During the course of the argument, ACPO officials said, it turned physical, and the defendant chased down the victim in the hotel hallway as she fled.
Upon catching the victim, the defendant struck the victim with a closed fist several times, resulting in facial injuries, Absecon Police said.
Atlantic County officials stated that Mr. Taylor fled the scene and was placed on a warrant and was apprehended by police shortly thereafter.
