Man Sentenced to 5 Years in State Prison for Atlantic City Shooting

On Monday, July 10, Ivan Tinitigan, 19, of Atlantic City,  pursuant to a negotiated plea agreement, was sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison on charges of second-degree aggravated assault and second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.

According to officials, Tinitigan must serve 85% of his sentence before he will be eligible for parole, and he will be subject to parole supervision for a period of three years upon his release. Officials say on January 13, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Tinitigan twice shot at the victim, A.S., near Ventnor Avenue in Atlantic City.

The victim sustained a single gunshot wound to the lower leg.

According to authorities, through surveillance footage, witness interviews, and cell tower analysis, investigators identified Tinitigan as the shooter.

After seeing the victim in public, Tinitigan returned home, disguised himself, retrieved a handgun, and then shot at A.S. before fleeing on foot.
