Emergency responders in Passaic County assisted in rescuing a man found in the Passaic River on the border of Wayne and Little Falls late Thursday night.
Preliminary information indicated at approximately 8:15 p.m., police and firefighters were informed of a person in the river near 25 NJ-23.
According to reports, rescue crews from Wayne and Little Falls arrived at the scene and found the unidentified male holding on to a rowboat occupied by two civilians.
The man was placed in the rowboat and then transported to the East Woodcliff Avenue (Little Falls) side of the river. Firefighters and EMS transported the victim to St. Joseph's Medical Center with Paramedics on board.
Authorities have not confirmed his condition at this time.
Police are trying to determine how the man ended up in the Passaic River. The incident is under investigation.
