Man Pulled into Vacant House, Robbed in Newark; Multiple Sunday Armed Robberies Reported

A man was reportedly walking down a city street was pulled into a vacant house the robbed and assaulted has police investigating this incident as multiple other armed robberies that occurred around the city on Sunday.

Police were called to the 200 block of Bruce Street to take a report of an armed robbery in progress that occurred at that location.

Arriving units located the victim who told officers that while walking down the street, two male suspects approached with a gun and forced him into a vacant building where they then robbed and assaulted him.

The suspect took personal possession befoe running from the scene.

The victim did not suffer serious injuries.

In Newark's Ironbound Section, at around 1 a.m., police took a report from a woman who reported being approached by two black male suspects and robbed of her pocketbook and cell phone while exiting her vehicle in an attempt to go into her home in the 40's block of Kossuth. The suspects fled the scene in a silver/gray BMW. The woman was not physically injured.

At around 1:35 a.m., police were called to 60's block of Martha Court to take a report of an armed robbery of a victim who was approached by as many as three black male suspects who implied that they had a weapon before taking person possessions from the victim. There were no physical injuries reported.

In the 200 block of Verona Avenue, police were called to the scene shortly befoe 3 a.m. for a woman who was approached then robbed by armed suspects. The men took personal possessions before running from the area according to reports.

Newark Police are investigating all of the robberies.
