Authorities in Newark are investigating a shooting that occurred late Friday morning, leaving one man injured.
According to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, officers responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 11:51 a.m. on Friday, December 13. The incident took place on South 10th Street near 15th Avenue.
When police arrived, they discovered a man who had sustained a gunshot wound.
The victim was promptly transported to University Hospital for treatment, where he is reportedly alert and responsive.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
Authorities have not yet released additional details about the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact Newark police as the investigation continues.
