One person suffered injuries after being shot in Newark's West Ward Friday.
At approximately 3 a.m., police responded to reports of shots fired on Lindlsey Avenue near Sunset Avenue.
Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering bullet wounds and requested EMS to the scene.
Police taped off the area to search for a crime scene and other possible victims, but no other injuries were reported.
The suspect fled the area, and no arrests have been reported.
Newark has seen five individuals shot in under 48 hours, with about three shots fired incidents in less than 12 hours.
No arrests have been reported.
