Man Indicted for Fatal Subway Stabbing in Hamilton

Hamilton Township (Atlantic)

Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri reported that a Mercer County grand jury returned a three-count indictment last week charging a Maryland man with death of Myung Jeon.

Yoon Choi, 50, of Silver Spring, Maryland, was indicted on one count of first-degree murder, one count of third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and one count of fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

He remains in the Mercer County Correction Center in lieu of $750,000 bail.

According to authorities, on December 9, 2014, at approximately 1 p.m., Choi stabbed Jeon multiple times at a Subway sandwich shop on Sunnybrae Boulevard in Hamilton.

She was able to communicate that she and the suspect had a prior dating relationship. Jeon died in a Delaware County, Pennsylvania hospital on July 7, 2016, as a result of her injuries.

Assistant Prosecutor Jennifer Eugene presented the case to the grand jury.

Despite having been indicted, every defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
