A 25-year-old Newark man was indicted Friday on murder charges, felony murder, burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in connection with the stabbing of a 64-year-old city man.
On July 3rd, Felipe Amaral, for unknown reasons, stabbed Dario Rodrigues to death inside Rodrigues’ third-floor apartment on Somme Street in Newark.
Amaral remains in custody at the Essex County Correctional Facility in lieu of $800,000 bail.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 29 before Superior Court Judge Ronald Wigler.
According to Katherine Carter, spokeswoman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office, Amaral knew Rodrigues and had previously lived with him.
