Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office announced today the sentencing of 24-year-old Efrain Palacios-Torres.
Palacios-Torres was sentenced on August 1 by Judge Daniels on a charge of first degree aggravated sexual assault to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison, No Early Release Act applies, Megan’s Law Registered Sex Offender, Parole Supervision for Life and Nicole’s law (No Contact with victim).
Defendant also has an ICE Detainer.
Victim was a 13-years-old girl known to Palacios-Torres. In January 2013, Palacios-Torres provided the juvenile in Lakewood with a drink. The juvenile later awoke to discover defendant had sexually assaulted her.
Palacios-Torres entered a guilty plea on January 16, 2014. Ocean County Prosecutor Detective Melissa Matthews investigated the matter. Senior Assistant Prosecutor Terry Ann Linardakis prosecuted the case.
