Police in Newark are investigating an incident where a man was found suffering a slash injury inside a building in the city overnight.
It happed at approximately 1:20 a.m. in the 900 block of Frelinghuysen Avenue where 911 calls reporting an injured person had officers on the upper floors of a highrise.
Units arriving at the scene contacted police after they found the victim bleeding after suffering a slash injury to the neck.
EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital where doctors treated the injury according to reports.
Police set up a crime scene where they searched for evidence to support a motive for the incident.
There were no arrests reported.
