Jersey City Police are on the search for an armed suspect who fired a shot that struck a man on a street in the city on Tuesday evening.
According to police, gunfire erupted in the vicinity of 737 Montgomery Street at approximately 7:45 p.m., sending officers to the scene to investigate.
Upon arrival, police found a male victim suffering a bullet wound in his stomach.
Police say the victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
Police are looking for a black male who was last seen wearing an orange bubble jacket, black hoodie and red and white sneakers.
The suspect remains at-large and no other injuries were reported.
