There is an active investigation into an overnight shooting that left a man seriously injured at a Linden restaurant.
Gunfire erupted at around 11:20 p.m. in the parking lot of the TGIF restaurant located in the 400 block of Park Avenue -near Route 1- sending a large contingent of police and emergency responders to the scene where they found a male victim suffering multiple gunshot wounds at that location.
Police established a massive crime scene around the parking lot where they focused their attention on a car that was riddled with more than a dozen bullets.
While police searched the area for a possible shooter, EMS rushed the victim to the hospital in serious condition.
The overnight shooting at TGIF makes it the second incident where gunfire rang out in or around a restaurant on a Route 1 corridor in NJ in about 12 days.
