A troubling finding unfolded this evening in Newark's South Ward as authorities responded to a call about suspicious activities and ended up finding a body.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office was swiftly on the scene, at the intersection of South 12 Street and Clinton Avenue, just before 5:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, detectives made a grim discovery inside a garbage dumpster where the lifeless body of an unidentified male was found.
The circumstances surrounding this suspicious death have left officials and the community deeply concerned.
As the investigation progresses, authorities are examining the cause and manner of death.
To ensure a thorough and comprehensive inquiry, the Essex County Homicide Task Force has been assigned to the investigation.
