A late night fatal stabbing in Jersey City is under investigation.
According to authorities, reports of a person stabbed in the 200 block of Monticello Avenue at around 10:45 p.m. sent police to the scene where they located a male victim unconscious and bleeding heavily at that location.
The male victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The shooting is the 23rd homicide in the city this year with six of the fatalities happening since October 12.
There were no arrests reported in Saturday's shooting.
