Bergen County emergency responders were called to Rockefeller Lookout in Englewood Cliffs to attend to someone who had fallen from a cliff Monday morning.
The incident occurred around 2:20 a.m. and prompted the swift response of police, firefighters, and EMS.
Upon arrival, responders found a young man, approximately 20 years old, who had fallen an estimated 40 feet from the cliff. Despite the significant fall, the man managed to survive with non-fatal injuries.
According to reports, the victim was found conscious and reportedly suffered from back and head pain.
The East Bergen Rappel Rescue Team was deployed to the location to facilitate the rescue operation. Police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the fall from the cliff.
Authorities often caution individuals to exercise caution and stay within designated safe areas when visiting locations with steep terrain or cliffs.
