Police in Jersey City are investigating a shooting that had a man self-transported to a hospital in the city overnight.
Officials at the Jersey City Medical Center contacted police when a male victim entered the emergency department suffering a non-life threatening gunshot wound.
The victim told p[olice that while walking on Dr. Martin Luther King Drive, an unidentified male approached and pulled a gun, then fired at him at close range.
According to reports, several police units canvased the area where they were able to obtain video footage of the incident and are now looking for a black male who wore dark clothing and a hoodie when he fled the scene after the shooting.
Police have launched an active and ongoing investigation.
