The Essex County Prosecutor's Office are on the scene of a fire that fatally injured a man this morning in East Orange.
According to a preliminary investigation, the fire broke out inside an apartment of a condominium complex at 127 Watson Avenue just before 6:45 a.m. sending firefighters to the scene where crews swiftly knocked down flames inside the residence.
During the search of the apartment, firefighters pulled an unconscious male victim out of the residence then had him rushed to an area hospital by EMS.
The Prosecutor's Office said doctors pronounced the man dead a short time later.
Authorities have not released the identity of the man.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
UPDATE: Officials have identified the victim as 57-year-old Raymond Beasley.
