A Vineland man has been charged in connection with the armed robberies of two banks throughout New Jersey, U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman announced this afternoon.
Stephan Byrd, 39, of Vineland is charged by complaint with two counts of committing armed bank robbery and one count of discharging a firearm during a crime of violence. He appeared this afternoon before U.S. Magistrate Judge Joel Schneider in Camden and was detained.
Byrd has been lodged in Cumberland County Jail since July 28, 2014 on a Vineland Police warrant for attempted homicide relating to an incident from Pennsylvania Avenue which occurred on July 16, 2014.
Byrd is charged with armed robbery on July 19, 2014 of the Newfield Bank E. Landis Avenue Vineland and armed robbery on July 21, 2014 of the Newfield Bank Delsea Drive Franklinville.
