Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said Eric Li, of Jersey City, is charged with one count of Theft by Unlawful Taking, a crime of the second degree.

Officials stated he was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office in Secaucus and released pending his first court appearance, which is tentatively scheduled for Monday, July 15, 2024.

The investigation found Li misused funds from a Union City homeowners association for personal gain while he served as the board’s president, officials said.
