Authorities in Hudson County announced that on Friday, January 5, 2024, the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit arrested a 66-year-old man in connection with a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Jersey City on February 10, 2023. Officials stated that Rey Rosario, of Bayonne, is charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision, Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, and Endangering an Injured Victim.
He was arrested on Monmouth Street in Jersey City and released pending his first court appearance, authorities say.
According to officials, on Friday, February 10, 2023, at approximately 7:45 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a pedestrian struck in the area of Communipaw Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard.
Responding officers located a victim – later identified as a 39-year-old Jersey City woman – with multiple injuries, officials say.
Officials said the striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.
The victim was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center with serious injuries, officials stated.
