Police in Newark are looking for a burglary suspect who broke into a restaurant in the city's West Ward today.
According to police, the burglary occurred at the McDonald’s Restaurant located at 334 West Market Street shortly before 4:15 a.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found that the suspects forced entry into the business and stolen a box that was left on the counter.
Police say, according to surveillance footage, the suspect did not stay very long inside the business after he noticed there wasn't much to take.
Authorities preliminarily identified the assailant as a light-skinned male who wore a hood and glasses when he fled the scene on foot.
The incident remains under investigation.
