Authorities announced the arrest of a 41-year-old man accused of attempting to rob a city bank Tuesday afternoon.
According to police, officers patrolling near the Provident Bank located near Harrison Street were flagged down by a person who alerted them about an attempted robbery at the bank sometime around 1:45 p.m.
Responding officers ensued a chase and eventually took suspect - later identified as Dwayne Moore, of Van Nostrand Avenue - into custody less than a block away.
According to reports, Moore walked into the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money.
As the teller informed manager, Moore grabbed the note and ran out of the bank.
Moore has been charged with robbery and was also being held on an open warrant.
