Police officers in Newark's South Ward took a man into custody for carrying a loaded gun in a neighborhood in that part of the city Friday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to the 80’s block of Lehigh Avenue to investigate reports of a suspicious person.
Upon arrival, police found the individual and began investigating, which led to the loaded weapon.
Police took the suspect in custody without further incident.
