Authorities in Jersey City placed a 50-year-old man in custody charging him with the murder of an 81-year-old Jersey City Woman.
Police found Cardenas-Viejo's badly beaten and stabbed body in her apartment last month, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced this afternoon.
Authorities said Jeffrey T. Harley of Jersey City has been charged with the murder of Cardenas-Viejo.
According to reports, at about 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 7, Cardenas-Viejo's officers responding to a report of an unresponsive female.
Officers reportedly found Cardenas-Viejos had suffered from "multiple blunt and sharp force injuries," authorities said.
In addition to murder, Harley is charged with felony murder during a robbery; robbery; armed robbery; felony murder during a burglary; burglary; armed burglary; and weapons charges involving a knife authorities said.
Harley's bail has been set at $2 million, cash only.
