Authorities announced the arrest of a 20-year-old Hillside man accused of killing his 20-year-old girlfriend, in his apartment last week.
According to Union County Prosecutor Grace Park, Emmanuel Dike was taken into custody Thursday, after a Hillside police officer found his vehicle in the parking lot of the Newark hotel on Thursday m, which ultimately led to arrest, Park said. He is charged with the first-degree murder and is being held on $1 million bail.
According to authorities, on Oct. 20, police responded to the 1500 block of Schley Street in Hillside for a report a woman, later identified as Christa Caper, 20, of Jersey City, who was found unresponsive in the apartment.
Capers was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death remains under investigation.
