A gunshot wound victim who was self-transported to a hospital in Elizabeth has police investigating the incident.
According to preliminary reports, officials at the Trinats Hospital contacted police when the victim entered the facilities emergency department before 9 p.m. suffering a gunshot wound to the face.
Reports say the uncooperative male met with police, but it was not clear if he immediately disclosed the location where the incident occurred.
Doctors at the hospital were able to remove the bullet, and the victim is expected to make a full recovery according to reports.
A request for public information was made to the Elizabeth Police Department for additional information regarding the incident.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
