A male victim suffered severe injuries after an assailant stabbed him in the stomach early Thursday morning.
In the incident, police responded to the vicinity of 144 Monmouth Street to investigate reports of an injured person.
Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering a stab wounding his stomach.
According to police, the victim was transported to the regional medical center for treatment and remained stable.
The motive for the attack is under investigation.
