Police officials in Newark are investigating a stabbing incident that that left a male injured in the city's North Ward Sunday morning.
The incident happened around 2:42 a.m. in the teens block of Taylor Street, according to police.
Officers found the victim bleeding from his stomach after an assailant produced a sharp object and began to attack.
Police say the unidentified victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The motive for the stabbing is under investigation.
