There is an active investigation underway as police look into a shooting that had a male victim struck multiple time in East Orange on Sunday morning.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 243 South Harrison Street just before 3:45 a.m. where officers arrived to find a male victim suffering gunshot wounds at that location according to preliminary reports.
EMS transported the victim to University Hospital in Newark where doctors treated gunshot wounds to the victim's leg and stomach.
Officers canvassing the crime scene found shell casings and other evidence to assist in the investigation.
The motive for the shooting as not been determined.
