Police reported serious injuries for the stabbing victim in Newark's West Ward Wednesday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, police were called to 320 South 11th Street to investigate reports of a person stabbed at 10:20 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering two stab wounds in his neck.
The victim was rushed to University Hospital for treatment and was administered surgery by doctors.
Police are investigating the motive behind the attack. One person was detained and is believed to be the suspect responsible for the stabbing.
