Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a shooting that left one person injured late Wednesday night in Paterson.
According to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office, gunfire erupted just before midnight in the area of Knickerbocker Avenue and Wabash Avenue.
A ShotSpotter device alerted police to the scene, prompting officers to respond swiftly.
Upon arrival, police discovered an unidentified male suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg.
Emergency medical personnel transported the victim to St. Joseph's Medical Center, where he is receiving treatment and is expected to recover.
As of Thursday morning, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
Authorities are working to determine the motive behind the shooting and identify the suspect involved.
