Authorities in Passaic County are investigating a shooting that left a man injured in the early hours of the morning.
According to preliminary information from the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office, the incident came to light around 3:10 a.m. when officials at St. Joseph's Medical Center notified police of a male patient suffering from a gunshot wound.
Responding officers were informed that the shooting occurred in the 50 block of Ellison Street.
Upon canvassing the area, police discovered shell casings near D’Classico Restaurant but found no additional victims at the scene.
Authorities taped off the area to conduct a thorough investigation. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and the investigation is active and ongoing.
No arrests or suspect details have been released at this time.
