Newark Police officials are investigating the motive behind a violent assault that left a man injured in a section of Newark's North Ward on Thursday night.
According to a preliminary investigation, police were called to investigate reports of an injured person in the single-digit block Magnolia Lane around 11:40 p.m.
Units arrived at the scene and found the unidentified victim suffering multiple puncture wounds in his legs and arms.
Police say the victim was approached by several males who began to attack and stab him at another location.
The victim was treated by EMS for non-life-threatening injuries then transported to the hospital for additional assistance.
The suspects remain at-large.
