Elizabeth Police are investigating a shooting that left one person injured in the port section of the city last night.
Police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the 80's block of Broadway shortly before 8:30 p.m. where they arrived to find a male victim suffering a gunshot wound to the back according to preliminary reports.
The victim was transported to the hospital in stable condition reports said.
Police set up a crime scene in the area where they began a search for evidence at that location.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. There were no arrests reported.
