Police in Newark checked several locations in the North Ward for a crime scene after offcials were alerted of a walk-in gunshot victim at a Belleville hospital Saturday morning.
According to police, officials at Clara Maass Hospital notified police when a male victim entered the emergency department suffering a bullet wound in his leg.
Police arrived and were told that the incident occurred at a location.
The victim's injuries were not considered life-threatening and police have not reported a motive for the shooting.
