As the summer comes to an end,
Long Branch police officers will be dispensing well-deserved Slurpee® justice to all the goods kids in community.
Officials say Long Branch Police officers will be issuing “tickets” to kids they observe doing good deeds or exhibiting positive behavior. The ticket is actually a coupon good for a free 12-oz. Slurpee® at any participating store.
In addition to encouraging positive behaviors, Operation Chill provides opportunities for our officers to establish a rapport with neighborhood kids. The reasons for being “ticketed” are varied, but the result is the same for every youngster: A free Slurpee drink and a smile for a good deed.
In cooperation with Street Smart NJ, kids who demonstrate safe pedestrian behaviors will be issued a "ticket" if witnessed by one of our officers as well.
